The Vacancy
News: 14 March 2010 - We are pleased to announce the Lord Chancellor's approval for Martin King to become Vicar of Rudgwick. He will formally take up his post at a special service on April 16th, and our 'interregnum' will cease.
Interregnum notes:
Our 'interregnum' has begun! Richard Jackson, our former Vicar, has now taken up the Diocesan post of Mission and Renewal Adviser.
We look forward with confidence and excitement to the apppointment of our next vicar. If you would like to receive a copy of our parish profile, please contact me (the webmaster!) and I will forward your request to the right people.
The picture shows the famous 'double bridge' which crosses the River Arun just south of Rudgwick.
Prayer for use in Rudgwick during the vacancy:
Gracious Father God, in this time of vacancy we lift up to you our church and our village.
We thank you for the caring and loving shepherd you gave us in Richard and we pray your continual blessing on him and his family.
We pray for the one you have chosen to come next, and we pray too for those now responsible for discernment, selection and appointment.
As we wait in hope and faith, find and release in us the gifts to guard and grow your church in Rudgwick; fill us with love for you and for one another, that no-one will be unlistened-to or undervalued, and that all may sense your purpose and your care in the life and witness of your people at this special time, and in this special place.
We ask in the name of Jesus and we pray in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
